Traditional Braces

STRAIGHTER TEETH | BETTER SMILES | GREATER CONFIDENCE

Traditional Braces

A Proven Solution for a Healthier, Straighter Smile.

Traditional braces are a time-tested and effective orthodontic treatment that uses metal brackets and wires to gradually move your teeth into the right position. They help correct misalignment, improve bite and create a healthier, more confident smile.

What Are Traditional Braces?

Traditional braces are orthodontic appliances made up of metal brackets, archwires and small elastic bands. The brackets are fixed to your teeth, and the wire applies gentle, continuous pressure to move the teeth into their correct position over time.

They are highly effective for treating a wide range of orthodontic issues, including crooked teeth, gaps, overbites, underbites and crossbites. With regular adjustments, your orthodontist carefully guides your teeth to a healthier and more aligned smile.

Types of Traditional Braces

Metal Braces

The most common type, made from high-grade stainless steel. They are strong, reliable and cost-effective.

Ceramic Braces

Made from tooth-coloured materials, they blend in better with your teeth and are less noticeable than metal braces.

Self-Ligating Braces

Use a special clip instead of elastic bands, which can reduce friction, shorten treatment time and make cleaning easier.

The Procedure

1. Consultation & Assessment – Your orthodontist examines your teeth and discusses your goals.

2. Bracket Placement  – Brackets are bonded to your teeth (usually in one visit).

3. Regular Adjustments – The wire is tightened at follow-up appointments.

4. Treatment Completion – Once your teeth are aligned, the braces are removed and a retainer is fitted.

Treatment time varies depending on your individual needs, but it typically takes 12–24 months.
